While i am training (warning: must love babies)

Posted on 18:49 by omprakash

So, I am officially training again. Its real. My legs are sore. I am tired.

I did my first "tempo" run on Tuesday. I use quotation marks because the effort was tempo, but the pace was not. I wish i hadn't worn my garmin because then i would not know how slow i am.

The best thing about being unfit is that you improve very quickly. In the pool, I am practically faster every day. Well, not quite every day, but certainly every other day. Once i got over myself and accepted my complete lack of fitness, i started to have fun with the process. Now i have learned to celebrate each time I accomplish a new "PR" (post-Rosalee). I still have another 5s/100m to go before i could even consider racing. I started 20s/100m off my norm. Now that is progress!

While i am training, Clint looks after our little Miss Munch and they do various things together like stare at bright colours and watch horror movies. The other day, I came home from a run to find Clint reading to Rosie from a Clive Barker book. The chapter was entitled "Harvey the half-devoured." This is what i get for procreating with a guy who writes horror films. I am told its a children's book. Turns out Harvey was devoured by the gloom of February. Something we can all relate to.

The other day, I was flicking through Clint's camera looking for new, fun photos of Rosalee when i found this video. I gather i was on the trainer at the time;
